K. Srinivas, Managing Partner
K. Srinivas has 26 years of experience of which almost 23 years has been in the Indian venture capital and private equity sector. He is one of the earliest venture capitalists in the country and has been associated with the industry from its nascent stage of development in early 1990s.
Having worked in all major business locations in India, Srinivas developed excellent working relations within the Indian business and finance community which helps drive deal sourcing and exit. He is one of the few private equity investment professionals in India who has invested throughout the full life-cycle of private equity funds across sectors, and different economic and industry cycles. He thus brings first-class expertise and network in all relevant areas of private equity investing including deal sourcing, investment analysis, due diligence, deal structuring, post investment monitoring and exits as well as regulatory issues.
As the general partner at EQ, the sub-advisor for BTS India Private Equity Fund (BTS India PE Fund) and the Swiss Technology Venture Capital Fund (Swiss Tec – which has returned more than 2-1/2 times capital to investors), Srinivas has been instrumental in building the portfolio and sits on the board of a majority of the portfolio companies. Srinivas also sits on the Investment Committee and the Valuation Committee of BTS India PE Fund.
Early in his career, Srinivas worked with two Indian venture capital funds – Credit Capital Venture Fund India (today's IL&FS Ventures) and Risk Capital and Technology Finance Corporation Limited (today's IFCI Venture Capital Funds Limited). Srinivas worked in manufacturing and airline industries before moving to VC/PE industry.
Srinivas is an engineering graduate with an MBA (rank holder) from Andhra University.

Shaji Varghese, Partner
- Shaji has around 16 years of experience in financial services including 10 years in venture capital and the private equity industry. Prior to EQ India Advisors, he was associated with Gujarat Venture Finance Ltd (GVFL Ltd.) where he led early & growth-stage investments in knowledge/technology based industries. He began his VC/PE career with Kerala Venture Capital Fund, a venture capital fund dedicated to investing in early stage ventures in Kerala, where he was responsible for investment activities and managing the portfolio.
- Over the span of 10 years, he has led 11 investments in early growth stage ventures across sectors in India and executed exits from 2 investments. At EQ India Advisors, he is responsible for sourcing deals, executing investments, engaging with & monitoring portfolio companies and planning & executing exit strategies.
- He sits on the Board of Reliable Autotech Pvt. Ltd. and Mantri Metallics Pvt. Ltd.
- He is an engineering graduate from Kerala University and holds a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. He is also a qualified Chartered Financial Analyst (India).

Hetal Jain, Vice President
- Hetal is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from the Indian School of Business (affiliate of Wharton, Kellogg and London Business School in India). She has about 9 years of experience, including working with E&Y (Mumbai) in the Assurance and Business Advisory team and Avendus Capital in the M&A and PE syndication team (Pharmaceuticals) before joining EQ India Advisors.
